INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian University volleyball team earned its 10th Mid-Central College Conference victory in a five-set thriller, 25-21, 19-25, 24-26, 25-15, 16-14, over Huntington University on Friday night at the Physical Education Center.

The Knights improved to 16-8 on the season and 10-6 in MCC play, while Huntington dropped to 6-20 on the season and 1-14 in the MCC.

Sophomore Becky Gramer led the Knights with 16 kills and a .378 attack percentage, while junior Ashley Francis tallied 14 kills. Sophomore Kacie Kelly tallied a double-double after she dished out 39 assists and notched 17 digs. She also added six kills and a block assist.

Senior Brittany Miller just missed a double-double after she finished with nine kills and 12 digs. She also added a team-high three service aces for the Knights.

Junior Jaymee Schambers notched a match-high 21 digs, while sophomore Karli Williamson tallied eight digs. Senior Kelsee Evans notched five kills, two digs and three blocks for the Knights in the win.

MU closes the 2011 home regular season on Saturday afternoon when they host No. 20-ranked Indiana Wesleyan University at the Physical Education Center at 3 p.m.

Prior to the match, seniors Kelsee Evans and Brittany Miller will be honored for their contribution to MU volleyball over the last four years.
