WICKLIFFE, Ohio - The Marian University men's bowling team had one of its best outings on Saturday at the American Heartland Conference Tournament II at Freeway Lanes in Wickliffe, Ohio.
The Knights' varsity team finished in sixth place with 8,048 total pins and an eight-game average of 953.50, while the junior varsity team finished fourth with 7,591 total pins and an eight-game average of 892.63.
Sophomore
Brad Caron led the Knights with a 12th-place finish. He tallied 1,008 total pins and a five-game average of 201.6. Sophomore
Matt Staninger turned in a 14th-place finish with 1,005 total pins and a 201.0 average, while sophomore
Kevin Rush finished in 15th place with 1,003 total pins and a 200.60 average. Sophomore
Jordan Gray finished with 909 total pins and a 181.8 average, while sophomore Lucas EWing finished with 738 total pins and a four-game average of 184.5. Sophomore T.J. McClelland turned in a 157 in his only game.
Sophomore James Kraushaar led the junior varsity team after he finished in 35th place with 935 total pins and a five-game average of 187 and was the only Knight to a 5-0 in match play. Freshman
Zack Carrie notched 927 total pins and 185.4 average, while sophomore
Beau Hadley finished with 881 pins and a 176.2 average. Freshman
Kyle Downs tallied 872 pins and a 174.4 average, while freshman
Austin Sawvel finished four games with 663 total pins and a 165.75 average. Freshman Marcell Johnson bowled one game and tallied 146 pins.
The Knights will remain at Freeway Lanes for the American Heartland Conference Tournament III on Sunday.
