INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian University volleyball team had four of its student-athletes honored for their performances during the 2011 season, the Mid-Central College Conference announced on Monday.
 
Junior Ashley Francis was named all-conference first team after another strong season. The Avon, Ind., native was the team's leading attacker and finished as the conference's third-leading hitter with a .306 hitting percentage. She notched a team-high 289 kills in 621 total attacks and finished with 2.6 kills per set. She was also the team's leading blocker with 86 total blocks, including 30 solo blocks. She was the conference's sixth-leading blocker with 0.8 per set. It is the second time she has been honored in her career.
 
Senior Kelsee Evans was named to the all-conference second team for the second straight season. She was the team's second-leading attacker with a .287 hitting percentage and 268 kills. She also was second on the team in blocks with 75 total blocks and average 0.66 blocks per set. Evans was honored for the second straight season. She finished her career with 560 kills, 318 digs and 180 total blocks.
 
Senior Brittany Miller also earned her second career all-conference second team honor and her second straight. Miller was an all-around player with the versatility to play any position in attack or defense. She was the team's third-leading attacker with 241 kills and was the team's second-leading defender with 343 digs. She also had 38 blocks in 2011. Miller became the program's all-time leader in digs with 1,651 career digs.
 
Freshman Megan Ruff was also honored as an all-freshman team selection. Ruff led all MU freshmen with 65 kills and had 13 blocks in just 73 sets of action.
 
The Knights closed the 2011 season with an 18-13 overall record and a 10-8 mark in the MCC. They finished fourth in the conference and hosted the opening round of the 2011 MCC Tournament. It was head coach Dan Findley's fourth straight season with at least 15 victories.
