INDIANAPOLIS - Second-year head men's tennis coach Steve Mackell
is proud to announce the first commitment for the 2012-13 season.
Taylor Kinney, who will graduate from Indian Creek High School this spring, becomes the first to sign with the men's tennis program for the 2012-13 season.
"Taylor is an awesome addition to our men's program at Marian University," said Mackell. "What I am most excited about is his drive to excel on the court and in the classroom. Taylor has great talent and the potential to be a high-level player in our conference."
Kinney is a gifted academician who is a member of the National Honor Society and has earned an academic athlete award in each of his four years at Indian Creek.
His ability on the tennis court is also resounding. Kinney was a two-year team captain who was named the team's most valuable player in each of his four seasons and earned all-conference honors each season. He was an all-state singles honorable mention on two occasions and was a two-year all-district pick. He earned all-county honors in each of his four eyars and was named a senior all-star.
