INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - Six members of the Marian College men's and women's cross country teams were honored on Saturday as part of the NAIA National Championship program as Daktronics-NAIA All-America Scholar Athletes.

Seniors Erica Baechle (Oldenburg, Indiana/Oldenburg Academy), Sarah Fowler (Dayton, Ohio/Chaminade Julienne), and Julia Konopasek (Munster, Indiana/Munster)Amanda Frey (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oldenburg Academy) were honored from the women's team.

Baechle, a graphic design major, and Konopasek, a business management and finance major, each received their second straight honor for outstanding academic performance.

Fowler and Frey each earned their first accolades for academic performance.

For the men's team, junior Kyle Hinkle (Brownsburg, Indiana/Brownsburg) and junior Matt Cummins (Avon, Indiana/Avon) were honored for the first time.

The Daktronics-NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete award is given to student-athletes who achieve at least junior standing while carrying a 3.50 grade point average.
