INDIANAPOLIS - Marian College men's and women's cross country picked up postseason honors on Monday, the NAIA National Office announced. Six Knights, three men and three women, were named 2008 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes for their performances in the classroom.

Seniors Matt Cummins (Avon, Indiana/Avon) and Kyle Hinkle (Brownsburg, Indiana/Brownsburg) each earned their second Scholar Athlete nod while junior Michael Foerster (Ferdinand, Indiana/Forest Park) earned his first accolade.

On the women's side, seniors Amanda Frey (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oldenburg Academy) and Julia Konopasek (Munster, Indiana/Munster) each earned the Scholar Athlete nod for the second time while junior Jill Kuntz (Batesville, Indiana/Oldenburg Academy) was named Scholar Athlete for the first time.

The honor is bestowed upon a student-athlete who has achieved junior standing and has maintained a 3.5 cumulative grade-point-average throughout their academic career.
