KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The No. 25-ranked Marian University women's tennis team continued its unbeaten run during its annual spring trip after the Knights defeated Aquinas College (Mich.) by a 9-0 score in Kissimmee, Fla., on Thursday morning.
The Knights have won their last five matches and are 17-3 on the season.

The doubles competition started the match and the Knights swept through the three matches to take a 3-0 lead in the team score. Sophomores

Lauren Paras earned an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles to open the match before sophomore
Olivia Pursell and freshman
Sarah Potter earned an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles. Senior
Alyson O'Conner and freshman
Hannah Knust earned an 8-5 win at No. 2 for their 18th win of the season.
In the singles competition, Knust earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2 before Paras won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4 singles to clinch the victory. Pursell won her match 6-4, 6-1 at No. 5 before junior
Tiffany Schendel won her match 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-2). Potter earned a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles to leave just Horlacher on the court at No. 1.
She was taking on the 13th-ranked player in the NAIA East Region of the ITA rankings in Lauren Ramey. After dropping the first set 5-7, Horlacher peeled off a 6-4 win in the second set. With the match already decided, the two players went to a 10-point tiebreaker in the third set. Horlacher earned the match victory with a 10-7 win in the third set and completed the 9-0 sweep.
The No. 25-ranked Knights will take on No. 23-ranked Webber International University on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. in Kissimmee, Fla., to close out their spring trip.
