MISHAWAKA, Ind. - The Marian University volleyball team continued its strong start to the Crossroads League season with a 25-23, 20-25, 25-23, 25-23 road victory at Bethel College on Friday night in Mishawaka, Ind. The win was the team's second straight overall and the second straight in conference play.

The Knights moved to 3-3 on the season and 2-0 in the Crossroads League, while Bethel fell to 5-6 overall and 0-2 in league play.

Senior Ashley Francis finished with a team-high 14 kills and a .542 attack percentage to lead the Knights on offense. Sophomore Megen Ruff tallied nine kills and had seven digs, while junior Morgan Merrill added nine kills and sophomore Donala Arnold also had seven kills. Junior Becky Gramer added six kills, while junior Kacie Kelly had a team-high 41 assists and tallied four kills of her own.

Defensively, the Knights had three players in double figures in digs. Senior Jaymee Singleton led the way with a team-high 16 digs, while junior Katie Kaiser and Kelly each added 13 digs. Ruff added a solo block and a block assist, while Francis and Gramer each had block assists and Merrill added a team-high three block assists.

The Knights will open the 2012 home season on Saturday when Goshen College (4-7; 0-2 CL) visits the Physical Education Center for a 3 p.m. first serve. The match will feature LIVE STATISTICS, which will be available at www.muknights.com.
