INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian University men's tennis team rebounded from its mid-week defeat to league champion Indiana Wesleyan to earn a 6-3 victory over St. Catharine College (Ky.) on Friday afternoon at the MU Tennis Courts.

The Knights improved to 9-3 on the season.

Freshman Ryan Heuer earned a 7-5, 6-7 (4-7), 10-4 win at No. 1 singles, while senior Andrew Voss earned a 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles. Sophomore Mitchell Trammel earned a 3-6, 6-2, 10-4 win at No. 4 singles, while junior Tyler Scanlan earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles. Freshman Jack Hiatt earned a default victory at No. 6 singles since SCC traveled just five players.

In doubles play, senior Will Dixon and Voss fell 8-9 (5-8) at No. 1 doubles, while Trammel and Scanlan dropped their match at No. 2 doubles, 5-8. Junior Nicholas Batuello and freshman Jason Denton also earned a default victory at No. 3 doubles.

MU will close the fall regular season on Saturday when Trine University comes to the MU Tennis Courts for senior day. First serve is at 11 a.m.
