INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian University men's tennis team closed the 2012 fall regular season with a 6-3 victory over Trine University at the Marian University Tennis Courts on Saturday.

The Knights improved to 10-3 on the season on senior day when seniors Andrew Voss, Kyle Luckiewicz and Will Dixon were honored for their careers at Marian University.

Dixon and Voss fell at No. 1 doubles, 8-9 (7-9), before sophomore Mitchell Trammel and junior Tyler Scanlan earned an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles. Junior Nicholas Batuello and freshman Jason Denton also earned an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles to give MU a 2-1 lead.

Denton picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles, while Trammel earned a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles. Scanlan earned a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 5 singles before freshman Jack Hiatt improved to 10-0 in 2012 with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.

Freshman Ryan Heuer fell at No. 1 singles, 0-6, 1-6, before Voss dropped his match at No. 3 singles, 1-6, 4-6.

The Knights (10-3) will host the opening round of the 2012 Crossroads League Tournament on Tuesday afternoon. The third-seeded Knights will take on No. 6-seeded Goshen College (5-6-1; 3-5 CL) in the first round. Time is still to be determined.
