FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Marian University volleyball team split a pair of matches at the 2012 Indiana Tech/Indiana Wesleyan University Crossover in Fort Wayne, Ind., on Saturday afternoon.

The Knights moved to 9-9 on the season after a four-set defeat to Saint Xavier (Ill.), 20-25, 25-21, 23-25, 20-25, and a three-set win over Aquinas College (Mich.), 25-21, 25-22, 25-13.

In the opening match, the Knights were led in attack by sophomore Megen Ruff and junior Morgan Merrill. Each had 11 kills to lead MU. Junior Becky Gramer added eight kills for MU, while junior Kacie Kelly tallied 38 assists.

Defensively, MU was led by Gramer's 17 digs for a double-double. Senior Jaymee Singleton notched 16 digs, while juniors Katie Kaiser, Karli Williamson and Kelly each added 11 digs. Kelly and Merrill each added a solo block and three block assists.

In the nightcap, the Knights were led in attack by junior Becky Gramer. Gramer tallied a team-high 14 kills and had a .467 attack percentage. Sophomore Megen Ruff added another 11 kills in the win and had a .435 attack percentage. Junior Kacie Kelly tallied 33 assists for MU.

Defensively, Gramer added another double-double to her career total with 10 digs, while junior Katie Kaiser also added 10 digs. Kelly and junior Morgan Merrill combined for 10 block assists.

The Knights will head to No. 23-ranked Taylor University on Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. first serve in Upland, Ind.
