GOSHEN, Ind. - Fresh off a five-set defeat on Friday night, the Marian University volleyball team was on the opposite side of the result in a five-set victory, 25-27, 16-25, 25-21, 25-21, 22-20, at Goshen College on Saturday afternoon.

The Knights improved to 10-11 overall and 7-5 in the Crossroads League, while the Leafs dropped to 8-15 overall and 3-8 in the league.

Senior Ashley Francis led the Knights with a match-high 19 kills and had a .405 hitting percentage. She also had five digs and three blocks assists for the Knights. Sophomore Megen Ruff tallied 17 kills, while junior Becky Gramer added 16 kills for MU. Junior Kacie Kelly tallied a career- and match-high 62 assists and added 16 digs in defense.

The defense was led by senior Jaymee Singleton after she notched a career-high 32 digs. Junior Katie Kaiser added 18 digs, while Gramer added 15 digs to her 16 kills for her second straight double-double. Kelly added three block assists, while sophomore Kirby Johnson also had a solo block and three block assists.

The Knights will host Spring Arbor University on Wednesday night at the Physical Education Center. First serve is at 7 p.m., and LIVE STATS will be provided at MUKNIGHTS.com.
