MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - For the third time in the last four matches, the Marian University volleyball team battled to a fifth set in a Crossroads League match. However, this time, the Knights came out on the losing end of a 21-25, 25-16, 25-22, 17-25, 17-19 match at Mt. Vernon Nazarene University on Saturday afternoon.

The Knights fell to 11-12 overall and 8-6 in league play, while MVNU improved to 17-9 and 9-5 in the league.

Senior Ashley Francis led the way for the Knights with a team-high 17 kills, while sophomore Megen Ruff added a double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs. Junior Becky Gramer added 12 kills, while junior Kacie Kelly tallied 41 assists for the Knights, who had a .211 hitting percentage for the match.

Kelly also added 12 digs in defense, while senior Jaymee Singleton tallied a team-high 22 digs for MU. Junior Katie Kaiser also had 15 digs, while Francis had a solo block and a block assist.

The Knights will return home on Wednesday night when they host the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) at the Physical Education Center. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. and you can watch the match LIVE on the Knights Athletics Network at MUKNIGHTS.com.
