MARION, Ind. - The Marian University volleyball team ran into the juggernaut that is No. 9-ranked Indiana Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon and suffered a three-set defeat, 20-25, 22-25, 15-25, at Luckey Arena in Marion, Ind.

The Knights fell to 13-13 overall and 10-7 in the Crossroads League, while the Wildcats moved to 27-1 overall and 15-1 in league play.

Senior Ashley Francis led the Knights with a team-high 11 kills and added two solo blocks. Junior Becky Gramer tallied six kills and had four digs, while junior Kacie Kelly had a team-high 23 assists. Kelly also added eight digs in defense for the Knights.

Senior Jaymee Singleton tallied a team-high 18 digs in the defeat.

The Knights will close the 2012 regular season on Wednesday night when they host Grace College (17-11; 10-6 CL) at the Physical Education Center. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. and the 2012-13 senior class will be honored prior to the match. The match will be video-streamed LIVE on the Knights Athletics Network at MUKNIGHTS.com.
