WINONA LAKE, Ind. - The Marian University volleyball team's 2012 season came to an end on Tuesday night in the opening round of the 2012 Crossroads League Tournament. The Knights, who were seeded fifth, traveled to No. 4-seeded Grace College, but could not overcome the Lancers in a 23-25, 29-27, 18-25, 21-25 defeat at the Orthopaedic Capital Center in Winona Lake, Ind.

The Knights closed the 2012 season with a 14-14 overall record and an 11-7 mark in league play under first-year head coach Ashlee Pritchard.

MU struggled passing on Tuesday night and had a hitting percentage of just .067. Senior Ashley Francis, playing in her final collegiate match, tallied a team-high 12 kills, while juniors Becky Gramer and Morgan Merrill each added eight kills.

Junior Kacie Kelly closed the 2012 season with over 1,000 assists after she notched 34 assists. She also had 13 digs in defense and had four block assists to lead the Knights. Francis added three solo blocks and seven block assists to close the 2012 season with 73 blocks. She finished her career with 1,013 total kills and a .351 attack percentage. She tallied 315 total blocks in her career as well. She finished six blocks shy of the school record for blocks.

Senior Jaymee Singleton led the Knights in defense with 25 digs and closed her career with 1,379 total digs.
