INDIANAPOLIS - Marian University senior volleyball player Ashley Francis was named a member of the 2012 American Volleyball Coaches Association NAIA All-America Honorable mention for, the AVCA announced on Wednesday. She also earned Tachikara-NAIA All-America honorable mention honors in addition to the AVCA award.

Francis, who recently concluded her career as a Knight, finished the 2012 season as the third-leading attacker in the MU lineup. She was forced to sit out a couple of matches due to injury, but led the Knights with a .366 attack percentage. She finished with 216 kills and had nearly three kills per set during the campaign. She also led the Knights with 63 total blocks, including 13 solo blocks. She was the Crossroads League's second-leading attacker and was seventh in kills per set.

She closed her career with 1,013 total kills and a career attack percentage of .351. She also finished just six blocks shy of the school record with 315 total block, including 85 solo blocks. Francis earned all-league honors in 2009, 2011 and was named league freshman of the year in 2009, the first for the MU program.

Francis was also a three-time all-league selection and earned league freshman of the year honors in 2009.

The Knights finished the 2012 season, the first for head coach Ashlee Pritchard, with a 14-14 overall record and an 11-7 mark in the Crossroads League, which placed them in a tie for fourth in the final league standings.
