Steve Mackell is proud to announce the Knights' second commitment for the 2013-14 season.
Martin Pochop, who will graduate from Valparaiso High School in the spring, is the Knights' second commitment for the 2013-14 season.
Pochop was a four-year varsity letter winner at Valparaiso High School, and served as the team's co-captain during his senior year. He was the recipient of the senior leadership award, and was a two-time winner of the Pride Hustle award. While at Valparaiso he earned all-conference, all-district and all-state honors. He led his team to the state quarterfinals in 2010 and 2012. His senior year, he registered a 25-1 record and was a member of the senior all-star team.
Pochop was the champion of the Northwestern 18's level six tournament and the NAC February Open level six tournament. He also, over his career, was a finalist in four other level six tournaments.
He also attends hitting groups two to three days a week in Chicago, Ill., along with serving as a tennis instructor during the summer.
Pochop plans on being a pre-dental major. He was born November 29, 1994, to parents Jeff and Kathleen, and he has two brothers and one sister.
