INDIANAPOLIS – The Marian University women's volleyball team defeated Spring Arbor in three straight sets on Wednesday.

Senior Kacie Kelly and freshman Maddie Heidenreich combined for 37 assists on the evening, as the Knights completed the season sweep of the Cougars.

Senior Becky Gramer led MU in kills with 11, while fellow senior Morgan Merrill and junior Megen Ruff each registered nine kills. Kelly registered 15 assists, while Heidenreich tallied 22. Freshman Taylor Greenan led the Knights in digs with 13, while senior Katie Kaiser notched 12.

The Knights have secured the four-seed for the upcoming Crossroads League Tournament and will play host to either Grace or Saint Francis (Ind.) on November 5 at 7 p.m. MU finishes their 2013 Crossroads League schedule with a 12-6 record. The Knights 12 wins in league play is the best by an MU squad in over eight years, and their fourth place finish in the league is their best since the 2011 season.

Before tournament play begins, the Knights will host Oakland City University on Oct. 25 and Indiana University East on Oct. 30. Then, the Knights will head to IU-Kokomo for their final regular season match on November 1.
