INDIANAPOLIS - Marian University head volleyball coach Ashlee Pritchard is proud to announce the second commitment for the 2014-15 season of MU volleyball.

Sarah Hayataka, who will graduate from Rockford High School in Michigan this spring, is the second student-athlete to commit for the 2014 season. She joins Alyx Shields from Martinsville High School as the first commits for next season.

Hayataka, a 5-3 libero/defensive specialist, was an all-region selection who was also named honorable mention all-state. She earned all-conference honorable mention honors and was named team most valuable player. She served as co-captain and broke two school records with the most digs in a match and in a single season. She was a member of the 2011 Class A State Champions and was a member of the district champions in 2014. She competes for Dead Frog/Far Out club volleyball in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The Knights finished the 2013 season with a 17-11 overall record and a 12-6 mark in the Crossroads League. Their fourth-place finish allowed them to host the opening round of the league tournament. The 12 league victories is the most in a single league season in program history.
