INDIANAPOLIS - Marian University head women's tennis coach Cassie Mackell is proud to announce the commitment of Veronica Clark for the 2014-15 season.

Clark, who will graduate from Lawrence Central High School this spring, brings an extensive tennis background to Marian University. As an AP Scholar, she also brings a commitment to academics to the MU program.

"I am really excited to have Veronica join our MU tennis family next fall," said Mackell, the 2013-14 Crossroads League Coach of the Year. "Veronica is a very talented player. She will bring an element to our team that will help take us to the next level. Not only is she a good player, but she has a good head on her shoulders too. I am excited about our future."

Clark was the 2011 state champion at No. 1 singles in the state of Wyoming and was also a regional champion. She was a 2011 all-conference and all-state pick in Wyoming. At Lawrence Central, she was a two-time all-conference pick who was a member of two sectional championship teams. She was named all-county and all-district in 2013 and was named to the 2013 all-state second team in singles.

She joins Audrey Rang and Paige Swan as the first three commits for the 2014-15 season of MU women's tennis. MU finished the 2013 league season with a 10-3 overall record and a 7-1 mark in league play. MU earned a berth in the league tournament championship for the third straight season.
