INDIANAPOLIS – Marian University head men's tennis coach Steve Mackell is proud to announce the signing of his first commitment for the 2014-15 season.
Dakota Smith, who will graduate from Greenfield-Central High School in the spring, is the first commitment for the reigning Crossroads League Tournament champions.
Smith was named the Hancock County No. 1 singles champion in 2013. He was a two-time recipient of his team's most improved award and was a member of the best buddies program at Greenfield-Central.
"We're really excited to add Dakota to our Marian tennis family," said coach Mackell, when asked about the signing of Dakota Tyler. "He's a very strong player with tons of potential in his game. What I like most about Dakota is his work ethic, dedication, and passion for the game of tennis. He'll fit right in with our great culture at Marian."
