INDIANAPOLIS - Marian University head volleyball coach Ashlee Pritchard is proud to announce the commitment of Julie Hoying for the 2014 season of MU volleyball.

Hoying, a 5-9 setter who will graduate from Fort Loramie High School in Fort Loramie, Ohio this spring, has committed to MU volleyball for the 2014 season.

She is a member and president of the National Honor Society at FLHS as well as the student council president. She is a scholar athlete who has earned honor roll accolades throughout her career.

She is a three-time all-county selection who earned first team honors as a senior and second team honors as a junior. A three-year starter, Hoying led her area in assists as a sophomore and surpassed the 1,000-assist mark as a junior when she was a second team all-district selection who was a part of a regional runner-up squad.

As a senior, she broke the 2,000-assist mark and became the all-time leader in assists at FLHS with 2,226. In addition to al-count honors, she was named all-district first team and All-Ohio honorable mention. She was also named the team's most valuable player as a senior.

In addition to her prowess on the volleyball court, Hoying was a member of the softball and basketball teams. She was part of the girl's basketball team that won the 2013 state championship.

She is the third to commit to MU volleyball for the 2014-15 season.
