UPLAND, Ind. - The Marian University volleyball team suffered its third straight defeat as Taylor University picked up a hard-fought 26-24, 25-18, 29-27 victory over the Knights at Odle Arena in Upland, Ind., on Friday night. The Knights fell to 2-4 overall and 2-3 in Crossroads League play.

Sophomore Frannie Stephenson led the MU attack with a team-high 12 kills, while sophomore AlyxaKay Shields tallied a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs.

Sophomore Julie Hoying tallied her third double-double of the season with a team-high 36 assists and 14 digs, while junior Vanessa Lay led MU's defense with a match-high 19 digs. Sophomore Crystal Williams also added eight kills in the attack for the Knights.

MU will look to snap its slide when the Knights head to undefeated Mt. Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) (13-0; 6-0 CL) for a 3 p.m. first serve on Saturday in Mount Vernon, Ohio.
