INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian University volleyball team put on a solid performance in earning a three-set sweep over USCAA No. 8-ranked Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College on Friday night at the Physical Education Center.

MU improved to 7-15 overall, while the Pomeroys dropped to 14-13 on the season.

The Knights earned their second straight victory by scores of 25-14, 25-17 and 25-19 to head into the final four matches of the league season with confidence high.

Sophomore Frannie Stephenson recorded a match-high 15 kills and had a .636 hitting percentage, while junior Emily Graves tallied nine kills and sophomore AlyxaKay Shields added seven kills. Sophomore Julie Hoying tallied a match-high 42 assists, while junior Vanessa Lay notched a match-high 12 digs in defense.

MU finished the match with a .330 hitting percentage as the Knights registered 47 kills and just 15 errors in the match.

MU will get back into league play when they begin a three-match road swing at Huntington on Wednesday night. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.

The Knights will follow that with a trip to Saint Francis (Ind.) (7 p.m.) on Friday before a Halloween encounter with Grace on Saturday (5 p.m.). The Knights will close the regular season on Nov. 4 when Bethel comes to the P.E. Center for a 7 p.m. first serve.
