FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Marian University volleyball team was officially eliminated from the postseason in a 3-1 defeat, 25-20, 17-25, 16-25, 10-25, to the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) at the Hutzell Athletic Center in Fort Wayne, Ind., on Friday night.

The Knights fell to 7-17 overall and 4-12 in the Crossroads League, while the Cougars moved to 11-22 overall and 6-11 in league play. MU was officially eliminated from the league tournament with the defeat as USF clinched at least the No. 8 seed for the eight-team tournament.

Sophomore Frannie Stephenson led the Knights with a double-double after she tallied a match-high 10 kills and had 13 digs in defense. Junior Maddie Heidenreich added a match-high 14 digs for the Knights as MU struggled in the attack over the final two sets. USF was able to register 13 total blocks for the match as MU finished with a hitting percentage of .092.

Sophomore Julie Hoying added 32 assists and seven digs, while sophomore AlyxaKay Shields finished with eight kills and nine digs. Junior Emily Graves added two solo blocks and a block assist for MU, while sophomore Crystal Williams added three block assists.

The Knights will remain on the road when they head to Winona Lake, Ind., to take on Grace College (17-16; 8-9 CL) on Saturday. First serve is slated for 5 p.m.
