MARION, Ind. – The Marian University women's track and field team placed third in the Crossroads League Championship yesterday. The Knights scored 121 points.

Day one saw freshman Brittany Sharp win the 10,000 meters in 38:16.39. Sophomore Sarah Wieser placed sixth in the 10000 meter race with a time of 39:48.47. Freshman Sarah Corbin set a Marian University record in discus with a throw of 40.37 meters.

Day two saw a strong start for the Knights with sophomore Destiney Patterson and junior Natalia Font placing in the top eight in the 100 meters. Patterson placed fourth with a time of 12.72. Font finished eighth, sprinting 100 meters in 12.95. Patterson would go on to place seventh in the 200 meters with a time of 26.43.

The 400 meters saw sophomore Becka Flora finished fourth with a time of 59.99.

Senior Ann Kuntz was crowned Crossroads League champion in the 800 meters with a time of 2:15.26.

In the 1500 meters, sophomore Kiersten Scrope placed fifth, running the race in 4:56.75.

Sharp carried her day one performance in to day two in the 5000 meter race. She finished third with a time of 18:33.52.

Junior Alicia Pollert placed eighth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.90.

Senior Lindsay Nichols earned the top finished in the 400m hurdles finishing in 1:06.11.

The 4x400 meter relay team placed first with a time of 3:56.05.

The 4x800 meter relay team finished second, running the relay in 9:29.61.

The high jump saw solid finishes for the Knights. Nichols finished fourth with a mark of 1.50m. Freshman Mieke Paulick placed sixth with a mark of 1.45 meters.

Junior Kaitlyn Moricz finished second in the Crossroads League in the pole vault, meeting a mark of 3.60 meters.

Junior Britta Beyer placed fifth in the hammer throw with a mark of 41.24 meters.
