MOBILIE, Ala. - The Marian University men's tennis team closed out their 2015-2016 campaign yesterday at the NAIA National Tournament in Mobile, Alabama. The 21st-ranked Knights lost 5-1 to 12th-ranked Cardinal Stritch, 5-1. The Knights finish the year with a 16-10 record overall and a perfect 8-0 in the Crossroads League.

In the doubles competition, senior Jason Denton and junior Marty Pochop lost 8-4 to Fabio Perasso and Raymond Welch. Junior Danny Albert and freshman Alex Wittenbaum also lost 8-4 to William East and Abel Da Coasta. At number three doubles, seniors Jack Hiatt and Taylor Kinney dropped their match, 8-2, to Florian Freese and Caio Barros. 

The singles competition saw three matches go unfinished. At number one singles, Denton faced Perasso in a match ending with sets at 3-6, 5-5, and unfinished. Number four singles also went unfinished for Bogle and Freese with scores at 7-5, 1-6, unfinished. Albert and Barros sat at 6-7, 0-5, unfinished in number five singles. 

Pochop lost to Gian Pico 6-3, 6-4 at number two singles. Hiatt won his match at number three singles to East, 6-4, 7-5. Wittenbaum lost at number six singles to Welch, 7-6, 6-4.
