INDIANAPOLIS – The Marian volleyball team continued its winning ways Wednesday night as the Knights defeated Spring Arbor 3-0 in Crossroads League play. With the victory, Marian is now 7-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play.


The Knights made quick work of Spring Arbor in the first set, winning 25-16. They then held off the Cougars in sets two and three, winning 25-20 and 25-22. It's the first sweep in conference play for Marian and second consecutive week that they have won at home.

Madi Heffron led the way for the Knights with 14 digs, 12 assists and one kill, while Ericka Ham added seven digs, four kills and an assist. Julie Hoying recorded a team-high 16 assists, while Vanessa Lay chipped in with 10 digs in her first game since being named Crossroads League Defender of the Week on Tuesday.

Nine players recorded at least one kill, while 11 of the 12 that played recorded a dig. Anne Strevels had a team-high seven kills, while Frannie Stephenson and AlyxaKay Shields each added six. The Knights finished with seven service aces and led Spring Arbor in nearly every major statistical category.
