MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The Marian men's tennis team remained unbeaten this season with a 7-2 win at Bethel Tuesday night. The win moves the Knights to 5-0 on the season, with all five wins against Crossroads League opponents.

"I was excited to see some guys move up in the lineup and get that valuable experience that they'll need when they are called upon," said head coach Steve Mackell.

Nathan Bogle led the way for the Knights, winning with Danny Albert in No. 1 doubles, 8-3, and also clinching the match for Marian in singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Luke Prude at the No. 2 spot. Albert, who is normally in for the Knights during singles play, was not featured Tuesday, which allowed new faces to step in.

The Knights shifted the lineup around and secured a win from Anthony Kendall, 6-3, 7-5, over Matt Kempf at the No. 4 spot. Alex Wittenbaum and Alex Collins picked up wins in singles play, while Wittenbaum teamed up with Patrick Holly at No. 3 doubles for an 8-1 win.

Marty Pochop fell at No. 1 singles after retiring with an injury down 6-4, and Marcus Hirsch fell at No. 5 singles.

The Knights head to Grand Rapids, Michigan, Sept. 15 for ITA Regionals.
