HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Marian volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision Wednesday night at Huntington in Crossroads League play. The loss puts the Knights at 9-5 overall and 2-2 in the Crossroads League this season.

Marian dropped a close first set, 25-23, but bounced back to take the second set, 25-21. Huntington, which is now 6-6 overall and 2-3 in the conference, won a lopsided third set, 25-14, before sealing the match with a 25-23 fourth set victory.

The Knights had their two-game winning streak snapped with the loss. Frannie Stephenson led Marian with 13 kills and five digs, while also adding two service aces and a block assist. Madi Heffron and Julie Hoying each recorded 23 assists, while Heffron added five kills and 16 digs. Vanessa Lay led Marian with 25 digs.

Marian will be at home for a pair of matches this weekend. The Knights host Taylor Friday at 7 p.m. and Mount Vernon Nazarene Saturday at 5 p.m. Your online source for Marian Athletics, tickets, multimedia, Knight merchandise, photos and more.
