GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Marian men's tennis team competed at the opening day of ITA Regionals in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Thursday. The Knights went 3-4 as three different men competed.

In singles play, Ian Deiters fell in the opening round to Rodrigo Manzo of Huntington, 6-4, 6-2, and then lost in the consolation round of 32 versus Nicolas Aguirre of Indiana Tech, 0-6, 6-2, (10-5). Danny Albert defeated Uros Pajic of Grace in the round of 64, 6-4, 6-0, but then fell in the round of 32 against Francisco Fernandez of Cornerstone, 6-3, 6-4. Alex Wittenbaum lost in the round of 64 against Evan Taylor of Aquinas, 5-7, 6-2, (10-7), but then won the next match in the consolation round of 32 over St. Francis' Alex Stavretis 6-1, 6-2.

The Knights had one pair in doubles play and the duo of Albert and Wittenbaum took care of business in the round of 32 against Austin Hendrick and Sam Ottosen of Cornerstone, winning 8-5.
