INDIANAPOLIS – The Marian volleyball team dropped its third consecutive match Saturday night in a 3-0 decision against visiting Mt. Vernon Nazarene in Crossroads League play. The loss puts the Knights at 9-7 overall and 2-4 in the Crossroads League this season.

Mt. Vernon Nazarene was in control early on, winning the first set 25-23, and then the dominating second set 25-11. The Knights started strong in the third set, opening up to a 16-9 lead. However, the Cougars, now 15-2 overall and 5-1 in conference play, rallied back and ultimately sealed the match with a 25-23 victory.

Anne Strevels led the Knights in kills with nine, while Vanessa Lay led the home team with 15 digs. Julie Hoying led both teams in assists in tonight's contest with 23, while Madi Heffron contributed 15 assists as well. AlyxaKay Shields and Frannie Stephenson also contributed with seven kills each.
