WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The Marian volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision Saturday afternoon at Grace College in Crossroads League play. The loss puts the Knights at 11-8 overall and 4-5 in the Crossroads League this season. 

Marian took the first set of the afternoon, winning 25-23. After the first set, Grace College took control, winning the final three sets and ultimately the match. Grace, who improved their record to 10-8 overall and 5-4 in the Crossroads League, won the second and third set with the same score of 25-22. The Lancers then put the final nail in the coffin, taking the fourth and final set 25-19.

The Knights had their two-game winning streak snapped with the loss. Frannie Stephenson led Marian with 10 kills, while Anne Strevels led the way with two service aces and blocks. Julie Hoying recorded 22 assists, while also adding 14 digs. Vanessa Lay led Marian with 16 digs.

Marian will be at home for a pair of matches this week, as they play host to Indiana Wesleyan and Stephens College.  The Knights host Indiana Wesleyan Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Stephens College Friday at 8 p.m. Your online source for Marian Athletics, tickets, multimedia, Knight merchandise, photos and more.
