INDIANAPOLIS – For the first time this season, Marian will have an opportunity to win a Crossroads League Tournament championship. The Marian men's tennis team is moving on the finals after defeating Taylor 5-0 Thursday in the semifinals at the Marian Tennis Courts.


Needing five points to win, Marian swept the first five matches and called it a day. The Knights took all three doubles competitions, led by the No. 1 duo of Danny Albert and Nathan Bogle The pair defeated Juan Ramirez and Stephen All 8-0, while Marty Pochop and Ian Deiters beat Andre Danelli and Chris Robbins 8-3. Alex Wittenbaum and Patrick Holly defeated Salvador Lo Cascio and Alex Jung 9-8 (7-5) to give the Knights an early 3-0 advantage.

In singles play, Bogle and Albert were the first to finish and secure the win for Marian. Albert picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win over Danelli and Bogle sealed the deal with a 6-0, 6-2 win over All. Pochop, Wittenbaum, Deiters and Anthony Kendall all had unfinished matches after Bogle clinched the win.
