UPLAND, Ind. – The Marian volleyball team ended their five-match winning streak Friday night as the Knights were swept by Taylor 3-0. The loss drops the Knights record to 16-10 on the season and 5-7 in the Crossroads League. 

Taylor University (16-9 overall, 11-4 CL) won tonight's match with set scores of 25-22, 25-20, 25-10.

Although the Knights fell in defeat to the Trojans, Marian played very competitive volleyball early, having taken the lead at different moments of each set. Errors were a dooming factor for Marian tonight, as the Knights had 41 total errors, while Taylor had 17 errors.

Leading Marian in digs during tonight's match was Vanessa Lay with 13. Julie Hoying led the Knights in assists with 17 while also recording eight digs. Marian leaders in kills were Frannie Stephenson and Anne Strevels, with 10 and eight kills, respectively.

The Knights look to finish the week strong and return to their winning ways as they take on Crossroads League foe Mt. Vernon Nazarene tomorrow. The match begins at 3 p.m. Your online source for Marian Athletics, tickets, multimedia, Knight merchandise, photos and more.
