MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – The Marian volleyball team evened the match at 1-1 after two sets, but Mount Vernon Nazarene answered with two-straight set wins and defeated the Knights 3-1 Saturday in Mount Vernon, Ohio. The loss drops Marian to 16-11 overall and 5-8 in the Crossroads League.

Mount Vernon took the first set 25-17, but the Knights bounced back and won the second 25-18 to even it at 1-1. However, the Cougars took the next two sets 25-17 and defeated Marian for the second time this season.

The Knights were led by Frannie Stephenson who recorded 15 kills and 11 digs to go along with a block assist and a service ace. Anne Strevels added 10 kills and a dig, while Julie Hoying posted 24 assists with a kill and 15 digs.
