INDIANAPOLIS – With the Crossroads League standings all bunched up in the middle, every match is crucial down the stretch and the Marian women's volleyball team took care of business Wednesday night, defeating Huntington 3-0 in Indianapolis. The win makes Marian 18-11 overall and 7-8 in the conference.

The Knights jumped on the Foresters, winning the first set 25-17. Huntington made eight errors in the set and had a 2.4 hitting percentage. Marian recorded 15 kills and accumulated a 28.6 hitting percentage.

In the second set, the two teams each made a lengthy run, and Marian gave up a 22-21 lead late. However, the Knights bounced back and earned a 27-25 win. The Knights then sealed the win with a 25-19 win in the third set in which they never trailed.

Frannie Stephenson and AlyxaKay Shields led the way for the Knights with 14 kills each. Stephenson added seven digs, a block and a service ace, while Shields contributed three digs and a block. Julie Hoying had a game-high 21 assists, while Madi Heffron was right behind with 19.

Vanessa Lay led the Knights with 18 digs and Anne Strevels chipped in five kills, two digs and two blocks.
