GREENCASTLE, Indiana - The Marian College men's tennis team suffered a sweep in its penultimate match of the season. The Knights fell 0-9 to NCAA Division III No. 18-ranked DePauw University on Tuesday afternoon.
    
The Knights salvaged just 11 games in the match and struggled to get any rallies going at any position.
 
Sophomore Brice Fairchild (New Castle, Indiana/Tri) fell at No. 1 singles, 0-6, 0-6, while junior Joe Nelson (Indianapolis/Cathedral) dropped his match at No. 2 singles, 0-6, 2-6.
 
Junior Jeff Graf (Sunman, Indiana/East Central) fell at No. 3 singles, 1-6, 1-6, and freshman Cory Rayhill (Loogootee, Indiana/Loogootee) dropped his match at No. 4 singles, 0-6, 0-6.
 
Junior Stedman Carmony (Arlington, Indiana/Greenfield) fell at No. 5 singles, 2-6, 0-6, and freshman Matt Hostetler (Shipshewana, Indiana/Westview) fell at No. 6 singles, 3-6, 0-6.
 
Nelson and Graf lost their match at No. 1 doubles, 1-8, while Fairchild and Hostetler fell by the same score at No. 2 doubles. Carmony and freshman Austin Hall (Indianapolis/Lutheran) fell at No. 3 doubles, 0-8.
 
The Knights close the 2008-09 season when they host Indiana Tech on April 21. First serve is at 4 p.m.
