INDIANAPOLIS – The Marian softball team secured a commitment from Mary Crumlin of New Palestine High School Tuesday afternoon.

"I am really excited to have Mary and her family join our team and Marian University," said head coach Scott Fleming. "She is a great addition to our team and Marian. Mary is a very talented student-athlete who comes from a winning high school and travel program."

Crumlin is a four-year starter at first base and hit .333 with 33 RBIs, 26 hits and two home runs in 78 at-bats. Crumlin carries a career average of .352 with 65 RBIs. Last year she helped NPHS to a 24-3 record and has helped New Palestine to an overall record of 72-11 with a sectional championship and three HHC championships. Crumlin also plays for the LIDS Dreams travel organization.

Marian softball begins the 2017 season March 6 in Florida.
