KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Last Friday, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the list of 335 women's cross country and 222 men's cross country student-athletes that were named 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes. 

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

Marian placed six runners on the 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete list, including four women and two men. Five of the six Knights to receive this honor were juniors. For the women, juniors Anna Dudley, Annie Fisher, Kiersten Schrope, and Brittany Sharp received recognition. The men's runners included senior Isaak Haas and junior Scott Prewitt.
