INDIANAPOLIS – The Marian wrestling team made the short drive to UIndy Saturday for the Midwest Classic and picked up three wins against a difficult field. The competition was the last one of the fall semester for Marian.

Brett Johnson was defeated in the opening round, but bounced back to defeat West Liberty's DeMadre Turner by major decision 13-3. Johnson would bow out of the competition in his next match. At the 184 weight class, Charlie Hill defeated Chris Matthews of Gannon by fall in 2:08. Hill was unable to pick up another win though, dropping his next two. The final win of the day came from Zach Worm who beat Thomas More's John Butler by fall in just 18 seconds.

The Knights will host their first dual meet in program history Jan. 6 against Ancilla. The meet will start at 7 p.m. Your online source for Marian Athletics, tickets, multimedia, Knight merchandise, photos and more.
