LAS VEGAS – The Marian men's and women's bowling teams traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada, during the Christmas break and each team came away with a top 10 finish in a pair of tournaments. The teams competed in the Collegiate Shoot-Out and the Glenn Carlson Invitational.

The men placed 14th in the Carlson Invitational with 8,642 total pins across nine games. The Knights had a high game of 1,059 pins in the first game and a low of 801 in the final contest. Eric Blessing led the way for Marian with 1,816 pins, which put him in 31st place overall. Josh Dory picked up a 43rd place finish and Bayler Shoemaker was also in the top 50 with a 49th place finish and 1,731 pins.

The men then placed 17th in the Collegiate Shoot-Out. The Knights knocked down 10,095 pins and averaged 958.2 for the tournament. Patrick Huebschman was the high-man for Marian with a 37th place finish and 1,235 pins. Blessing finished 55th with 1,180 pins.

The women's team eighth at the Carlson Invite with 8,058 pins. The Knights' high game was 984 in game six, while the low score of 783 came in game one. Marian was locked in tight contests for the duration of the tournament with each game being decided by 10 pins or less.

Emily Koulis finished 13th for Marian with 1,700 pins, while Taylor Davis came in 25th place with 1,662 pins. Aubree Trexler finished 34th with 1,612 pins.

The Knights finished eighth again at the Collegiate Shoot-Out with 10,130 pins. Marian averaged 918.5 pins per contest and had a high game of 1,010.

Lindsey Fogliasso finished 27th for the Knights with 1,161 pins, while Davis was 32nd with 1,133.
