INDIANAPOLIS – The Marian softball team has signed Lanie Horen, a transfer student from Indiana State. Horen graduated from Franklin Central High School and will play in the outfield for the Knights.

Horen had a career batting average of .381 with 98 hits, 75 runs, and was 19-for-21 in stolen bases.  Last year she hit .449 with 48 hits and 32 runs and led Franklin Central to a 23-6 record.  Her teams were a combined 74-16 during her career.

"We are excited to pick up a Division I transfer at the semester who is eligible to play this spring," said head coach Scott Fleming. "Lanie loves to play the game and is a tough, talented player who is a great addition to Marian and our team. She gets on base, covers a lot of ground in the outfield, and has a strong arm.  She has been well coached in high school and travel. Lanie is also an excellent student."

Horen plans to major in business. Your online source for Marian Athletics, tickets, multimedia, Knight merchandise, photos and more.
