INDIANAPOLIS – The Marian men's and women's bowling teams competed at the American Heartland Conference tournaments Saturday and Sunday in Westland, Michigan. Sam Atkinson led the men, while Aubree Trexler led the women.

In the AHIBC III on Saturday, Atkinson finished seventh in total pins, knocking down 1,023 across five games. Atkinson's high game was 243 and he averaged 204 pins per game. Patrick Huebschman finished 21st with 985 pins and closed with his high game of 234 pins.

Diante Fields finished 32nd with 965 pins. His high game of 256 came in the second game, while he finished with a 210. Michael Smith also finished in the top 50, coming in 48th place with 937 pins. Smith knocked down 226 pins in his third game.

On the women's side, Trexler finished 11th with 924 pins. She knocked down 205 pins in the first game and averaged 184 pins across the five games. Taylor Davis finished 26th with 894 pins and was consistent throughout, scoring no lower than 171 pins and had a high-game score of 191.

Lindsey Fogliasso and Emily Koulis finished 28th and 29th, respectively. Fogliasso narrowly bested Koulis, finishing with 889 pins compared to Koulis' 887. Fogliasso knocked down 192 pins in the fifth game, while Koulis had a high game of 211.

Kodilee Underwood and Jessica Neu also finished in the top 50 with Underwood finishing 47th and Neu coming in 50th.

The Marian men finished fifth with 7.056 pins and averaged 980. Notre Dame (Ohio) earned the top spot with 7,409 pins. The women finished second with 6,765 pins, and recorded a high game of 936.
