WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana - The Marian College men's golf team picked up its first
tournament victory on Tuesday at the Taylor Invitational on Kampen Golf Course
in Lafayette, Indiana.
The Knights shot a two-day total of 639 (321-318) to win by two strokes
over Wheaton College. The Knights had the low team rounds on both days.
Junior
Luke Weber (North Vernon, Indiana/Jennings County)
led the way for the Knights after he finished in a tie for third overall. Weber
carded a two-day total of 157 (80-77).
Senior
Jacob Murray (Logansport, Indiana/Logansport) earned a fifth-place
finish after he carded a 158 (80-78). Freshman
Brandin Newton
(Crawfordsville, Indiana/Crawfordsville) earned a tie for sixth place
after he carded a 159 (81-78).
Freshman
Sean Jones (Indianapolis/North Central) earned a
tie for 12th place after he shot a 165 (80-85).
Junior
Nick Olsen (White Pigeon, Michigan/White Pigeon)
finished in a tie for 22nd place after he shot a 171 (86-85).
The Knights head to the MCC Preview on Friday afternoon at Rock Hollow Golf
Course in Peru, Indiana. The tournament is a tune-up for the MCC Championship to
be played in Peru on April 27 and 28.
