FORT WAYNE – The Marian women's bowling team finished sixth in the AHIBC Championships over the weekend, while the men's team placed ninth at the AHIBC tournament in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The championships were strictly team scores with baker games and there was no individual scoring. In qualifying, the women fell behind early with a 624 in the first game, but bounced back in game two with a 715. After a 670 in the third game, Marian was dominant in the fourth with a score of 816 pins, which was 55 pins more than the second place team for that game. The Knights finished with a 750 in the fifth game for a total of 3,575 pins. Marian's average of 893.75 topped Notre Dame (OH) which finished with an average of 883. In the final round, Marian placed sixth.

The men placed ninth in a field of 25 teams. Marian began qualifying with a score of 714 in the first game and followed with a 713 in game two. After a low score of 623 pins in the third game, the Knights bounced back with 835 pins in the fourth game. Marian then finished with a 714 in the fifth game and knocked down a total of 3,599 pins. The Knights averaged 899.75 pins. In qualifying, the Knights finished ninth overall.
