KANSAS CITY - After a successful regular season that featured multiple championships and all-conference players, the Marian women's basketball team drew Olivet Nazarene as its opening round opponent in the NAIA National Tournament, which begins March 8 in Sioux City, Iowa.

The Knights enter the tournament as the defending national champions and are coming off of a 30-3 regular season that featured conference regular season and tournament titles. Marian has defeated five ranked opponents this season and enters as a one seed.

Olivet will be an eight seed in the tournament and enters with a 20-11 record and has won four of its last six games. The Tigers run a fast-paced offense and routinely score well over 100 points, including a 155-point performance in their final regular season game. Olivet is 3-0 on a neutral court this season. The two teams last met in 2016 and Marian won the matchup 109-103. The Knights are 3-0 all-time against the Tigers.
