JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - All eyes were on Marian track and field's Taylor Killings and Presley Martin as the two men entered the NAIA Indoor Championships as the top performer in their respective races. Neither disappointed Friday at Day 2 in Johnson City, Tennessee, and the Knights also earned their first All-America honor as Marcellion Gardner finished seventh in the long jump.

Killings, the defending champion in the 60 meter hurdles, ran 8.03 seconds and recorded the top time in the field. He blew away the competition in his heat and was 0.6 seconds faster than the second place time overall. His time easily qualified him for the finals, which will be run Saturday.

Martin also entered with the top time in the country in the 800 meters and he recorded the best time in the prelims as well. His time of 1:53.50 was the top time among 15 runners and he will hold the top spot in the finals on Saturday.

Moussa Conde performed well in the 200 meters, finishing fourth overall in the prelims with a time of 21.58. Conde's time beat out 18 other runners and he qualified for the finals. In the long jump, Marcellion Gardner placed seventh in the finals, clearing 7.10 meters, which earned him All-America honors. Emil Belmontes placed 13th in the high jump at 1.96 meters.

On the women's side, Lateefah Birks finished 14th of 25 in the 60 meters with a time of 7.80 seconds. Marian will finish up the Championships Saturday. Your online source for Marian Athletics, tickets, multimedia, Knight merchandise, photos and more.
