SIOUX CITY, Iowa - Sunday was a day off for the Marian women's basketball team after three-straight days of games at the NAIA National Championship Tournament. The Knights are back in action Monday evening in the national semifinals against No. 1 St. Francis (Ill.) at 7 p.m. ET.


The semifinals feature the top four ranked teams in the NAIA this season. Marian is currently No. 4 and will take on top-ranked St. Francis. The Fighting Saints were undefeated until the CCAC Tournament Championship. With only one loss, St. Francis has piled up 34 wins this year. Marian comes in riding a 21-game winning streak and has not lost since December 17. The Knights last played a No. 1 team last season when they beat Morningside at the National Championship Tournament.


Marian has moved through the bracket by defeating Olivet Nazarene (105-92), No. 20 IU-East (96-69) and No. 5 Southeastern (81-67). The Fighting Saints needed double overtime to defeat eighth-seeded UC-Merced in the opening round (87-82) before beating No. 17 Tabor (69-53) and No. 9 Eastern Oregon (51-48).
