SIOUX CITY, Iowa - For the second straight season, the Marian women's basketball team will play for the NAIA National Championship. The Knights will take on No. 3 St. Xavier Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET.

THE GAME

The Knights earned the right to defend their title Monday night with a 64-56 win over No. 1 St. Francis. St. Xavier defeated No. 2 Concordia 91-83 in the other semifinal to meet Marian in the title game. St. Xavier is 34-2 this season and has won 16 games in a row. The Knights enter 34-3 and have won 22 games in a row. 

THE LAST TIME THEY PLAYED

Marian last played St. Xavier in 2015. The Knights played the Cougars on a neutral court in Bourbonnais, Illinois, and fell 81-67. Ana Kirby scored 14 points and Jessica Almeida scored 11 points in the loss, while the Knights hit just 36 percent of their shots.
